According to the Rekhitta Swan-ah charity, donors from Vietnam will hold ceremonies in the Yangon region to recite the Five Precepts, give alms to 20,000 monks and nuns, and light 10,000 oil lamps.
These activities will be held at the Boudha Thong Pagoda in Boudha Thong Township, Yangon Region, the ShweOoMin Dhammathukha Meditation Center in Mingaladon Township, and the Shwedagon Pagoda in Bahan Township from June 18 to 20.
After completing 144 hours of reciting the Five Precepts in the Tripitaka donated by Vietnamese donors, a ceremony will be held at the Boudha Thong Pagoda at 8:30 am on June 18. Alms and offerings will be given to 227 monks who will take the Tripitaka examination.
Similarly, 20,000 monks and nuns from 220 temples in the Yangon region will receive alms at the ShweOoMin Dhammthukha Meditation Center in Mingaladon Township at 2 pm on June 20.
At 6:30 pm on June 20, Vietnamese donors will offer 10,000 oil lamps on the terrace of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.
