The Hong Kong Buddhist Federation held a Buddha Bathing Ceremony and auspicious ceremony on the Buddha’s birthday, wishing prosperity to the mainland and Hong Kong.
The ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom. Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-kei and Secretary for Ethnic Affairs and Youth Affairs Mak Mei-kuen served as guests of honor and presided over the auspicious bell ringing ceremony, wishing peace in the world, prosperity in the motherland, and prosperity in Hong Kong society.
In his speech, Chan Kwok-kei mentioned that the Buddha Bathing Ceremony is an important religious event in Hong Kong, attracting many believers from home and abroad to come to Hong Kong to learn about Buddhism. He hopes that Hong Kong will play its advantage as a cultural hub to promote Chinese traditional culture, including religion, to tourists and show a diverse and inclusive appearance.
