In the early morning of May 14, a large number of Buddhist believers and residents from all over the country gathered at the Quan Su Pagoda in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, to pay homage to the Buddha’s relics.
As part of the United Nations Vesak Day celebrations in 2025, the relics will be enshrined at the pagoda from May 14 to May 16 in the morning. Believers began queuing as early as 6 a.m., waiting quietly with pious respect for the traditional worship ceremony.
This rare and significant exhibition of Buddha’s relics is part of a series of events nationwide to celebrate Vesak Day (Buddha’s Birthday), which has attracted widespread public attention.
Quan Su Pagoda, which is also the headquarters of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha, is expected to welcome thousands of visitors in the coming days. In order to cope with the influx of tourists, Quan Su Pagoda has extended its opening hours from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
